My MERMAIDS AND SEAHORSES start out with a wire armature which is wrapped with batting. They are wrapped with SILK PAPER which I made from SILK ROVING and HAND DYED.  The mermaid's faces are formed with paper clay and painted.  From there the fun begins for me and my creations come to life.   I used netting, lace, yarn, shells, paint, embroidery and individually hand sew beads for embellishments.  The photos do not do them justice as to color and detail.
