The MERMAIDS AND SEAHORSES start out with a wire armature which is wrapped with batting. They are wrapped with "SILK PAPER", which I made from silk roving, and hand dyed.  The mermaid's faces are formed with paper clay and painted.  From there the fun begins for me and my creations come to life.   I used netting, lace, yarn, shells, and individually hand sew beads for embellishments.                                                Lacey is sitting on a mica rock found in my yard in Maine.  Mount Mica is near me.
