It has 36, 10-inch squares, half with the 8-point stars centered with a '4-patch', and half with a '16-patch' set on the diagonal. The background for the squares is an off-white tonal print. Each of the star squares has a 2-inch square in each corner. Mom created a 10" border for the quilt by piecing 2" wide strips of all the various colorful fabrics, and put a '9-patch' square in each corner. Mom backed and bound this one with natural muslin. Mom machine pieces and quilts, and hand binds. All pre-washed fabrics. For reference in measuring how a quilt will fit on your bed: a Full mattress measures 54 x 75"; Queen measures 60 x 80".
