For 73 years Elvin has been turning.  While he was working fulltime he didn't have many hours to spend at the lathe.  But, since moving to Buena Vista more than 15 years ago he has spent many hours in his shop.He now works on a OneWay lathe which was custom built for him in Canada.  It has the capacity to handle work up to 24 inches in diameter.  "The only problem is finding a tree that large!" he says. For the past dozen years he has given scores of pieces to local non-profit organizations to sell and benefit their projects.   These days his focus is making things that sell in Salida, Colorado, at the Bus Stop Boutique.  The profits from the boutique will help defray the costs of opening and operating Sunset Home.  Sunset Home will be for people who do not have around-the-clock caregivers but want end-of-life care in a home-like setting.  All money gained from the sale of this bowl will go directly to the Bus Stop Boutique.  Thank you for looking at this beautiful piece!!!!     Payment via PayPal is prefered.
