It is a different twist on a log cabin....as you look across the quilt, you see gradations of color moving from white to dark green. The 41 stars are done in various pink and green fabrics on a white tonal background. Each star is set in a log cabin square of strips of greens and light creams/beige/off-white. One corner ends in the light colors, and the opposite corner ends in the dark green tonal. All of this is bordered with a pink strip. As you look across the quilt, it has a zig-zag appearance. Rather than a solid backing, Mom fashioned a striped backing by piecing the dark green, pink, and white tonal. I think the pictures make the green look darker than it is. This quilt is huge! It measures about 97" wide and 98" long. For ease of reference, a Queen mattress measures 60 x 80, so you can figure what the drop would be on the sides and foot. Mom prewashes all of her fabric, sews by machine, and quilts on her long-arm quilting machine. She hand binds. Place a Bid!
