There are 63 squares that feature one-inch squares in assorted pinks, browns, and tans. The squares are set on the diagonal with a calico print in pink/rose on tan. The border is a small print on tan and features appliqued leaves and flowers framing the opposite corners. While the size of the quilt and its pieces is not large, the small scale of the pieces entailed much sewing. I sewed this with my sewing machine, included applying the applique pieces, which were each cut and prepared by hand. I backed this quilt with a khaki cotton solid, and also hand-bound it with that. This quilt has a timeless, even old fashioned prairie look. The size is 63" wide by 77.5" long, which I think is just right for the pattern! All pre-washed fabrics; cotton/poly blend batting.
